| Description |
Deutsch: MIRKA (MIkro RückkehrKApsel) ist die erste vollständig in Deutschland entwickelte Wiedereintrittskapsel. Sie ist im Besitz des DLR und wird im Originalzustand gezeigt, in dem sie nach ihrer 14-tägigen Erdumrundung 1997 und nach dem Wiedereintritt in die Atmosphäre gelandet ist. Eine neuartige Hitzeschutztechnik konnte hier erstmals in der Praxis demonstriert werden. Die Ergebnisse der Mission lieferten deutschen Ingenieuren und Wissenschaftlern wichtige Erkenntnisse zur Entwicklung von wiederverwendbaren Raumfahrzeugen.
