Summary
| DescriptionTwo Cubesats from Planet Labs.jpg |
English: The first pair of the 28 Planet Labs Earth Observation satellites leave the ISS. You don't usually get this motion-picture quality perspective. But Koichi Wakata of JAXA was there for the money shot.
Congrats to Planet Labs and their partners in this grand adventure! NASA description: The NanoRacks CubeSat Deployer (NRCSD), in the grasp of the Kibo laboratory robotic arm, is photographed by an Expedition 38 crew member on the International Space Station as NanoRacks deploys a set of Planet Labs Doves. The CubeSats program contains a variety of experiments such as Earth observations and advanced electronics testing. Station solar array panels, Earth's horizon and the blackness of space provide the backdrop for the scene. |
